It’s alive! Yay! This blog is now hosted at Dreamhost. :3 I maxed out my bandwidth on my old host, so I thought it was a good chance to switch. I’m pretty happy with Dreamhost so far. It’s faster and I get shell access (IRC yay!) now. Not to mention my month bandwidth increased by a few dozen folds…
Do keep us updated on any issues you face at DreamHost! I’ve avoided them in the past due to concerns that they were overselling their bandwidth, but according to your initial reports it doesn’t seem that bad.
What kind of throughput can you get from the server?
>>I maxed out my bandwidth on my old host
It’s all that Haruhiism, I tell you. The crazy fans refreshing your blog again and again waiting for results during the first two stages of the HTCP. *sigh*
Your subdomains aren’t set up right. http://lyrics.darkmirage.com/ doesn’t work, but http://www.darkmirage.com/lyrics/ does.
I know the pain of switching hosts, as I just gave up the slow-running Powweb for Hostgator, and I’m very happy so far.
Yes I know, I had already made the changes, but it seems like the DNS has not propagated yet.
That reminds me, I may have to switch hosts soon for my contract is coming to an end. A lot of trouble impending.
wow bandwidth issues again?
maybe its the power of LG digital LCD display again!
=p
The haruhiism HTCP logo is now a broken link… :( …. Cheesehead Dave is right..
All I can say is be careful with their cpu usage limit ( an untold limit held between hostings), I had a nightmare with it: this limit is reached way faster than the skyscraping bandwidth limit.
I actually won’t be renewing with Dreamhost. I realized that I’m not even using close to 1 TB of bandwidth per month, and the downtime is really annoying. Dreamhost is not a tayoreru onna.
I think compared to RIUVA’s host, Dreamhost is a much better choice. And the downtime was a rare event due to some shit data centres.
And hey 1TB of bandwidth means you can do hell lots of stuff with your account. Muahahaha.
It seems to me that dreamhost has solved the majority of their hardware issues. Yeah, it was horrible for a while (more downtime than uptime and speeds worse than a home dial-up connection when it DID work), but they certainly won me back with the new disk space and bandwidth limits. Good choice imo.
Well, congrats on the new hosting ^^. I’m looking forward to your impressions about the service after some weeks/months (I once considered to buy their Code Monster plan).
Wasn’t IRC banned in the Dreamhost’s TOS?
Uh. I don’t read that crap.
It’s installed for a reason right? D:
It’s installed to lure young innocent naive people like you to install an eggdrop bot or iroffer on it, and BAM! there goes the contract. ;D
j/k, but IRC actions are banned, check out their TOS.
Else anyone would have their iroffer up… I mean look at the bandwidth and storage offer! D:
