JLPT notice

The end is close. This will hopefully be the last JLPT paper that I will ever have to take in my life. Never again will I have to travel to that god forsaken school located in the middle of nowhere to suffer for hours, enduring freezing coldness and uncomfortably small chairs.

Yup, I just received my JLPT notification. The test venue is Japanese School (Changi Campus) yet again. Looks like I will never get a chance to take the test in one of the more easily accessible alternative test sites. Maybe it’s just destiny.

So, who else is awaiting the arrival of December 3rd? :P

Deep down in my heart, I knew this was going to happen. It was only a matter of time. But I didn’t expect it to be this soon. 心の準備が・・・！

Anyway, COSPA has started taking preorders for a Nanaka dakimakura cover. As you may or may not know, Nanaka is the hawtest girl in Da Capo II, ever.

It costs a cool ï¿¥9,000 excluding tax (in other words, standard COSPA price) and you can preorder one from CDJapan.

It seems like as long as I am connected to the Internet, I’ll never be able to save a single cent. Grrr. (*pokes moyism*)

Chinese fans invade Japanese PS3 launch

Taken from ITmedia. So anyway, the CEO of Sony, Mr. Ken Kutaragi, made a surprise visit to a Bic Camera branch at Yuurakuchou to personally hand over a PS3 to the first person in line.

The first guy in line was CHINESE. How cool is that? It’s like having a Chinese be the first guy on the moon, except lamer.

Not only that, CNET Japan was also reporting on the number of Chinese PS3 auction listings they found on Taobao, a Chinese auction site, and predicted yesterday that a lot of the people queuing up would be Chinese. And indeed they were. Even Danny Choo estimated that 30% of the people queuing up were foreigners. Q-Taro and other sources also reported that people, including homeless ones, were being paid to queue up. Imagine how many Japanese gamers walked away empty handed because of the number of Japanese PS3s being shipped to China and all over the world for 1,200 USD or so.

Globalization bites back! :) You get cheap plastic figures and electronics, but you pay for it with PS3s!

Not forgetting the Koreans and the Brits.

PS3 launches with a bang

PS3 launched some hours ago in Japan and, surprise! Thousands of people queued up for it. If you follow any gaming blogs at all, you’d think that everyone in the world hates PS3 and can’t wait to fap (to) their Wii. But judging by the turnout today, I think we can safely say that the bad publicity Sony has been getting is not going to determine the success (or failure) of the PS3. The product is.

Haruhiism Time Capsule Project – Otsukare!

The Yahoo! Time Capsule will stop accepting submissions today. We have already reached and exceeded our target of 100 pictures tagged with “haruhiism”. Good job everybody! I hope you had fun taking those pictures while ignoring the stares of non-believers. :3

Anyway, I was at the beach (again) yesterday due to circumstances beyond my control. Damn it, this is damaging my hikikomori street cred. I was considering taking a few more Haruhiism shots so I brought my camera along, but in the end I got distracted by a cat. Outdoors is a dangerous place full of the unexpected.
