My final JLPT adventure

…hopefully. I just got home. Today’s JLPT 1 paper was the hardest Japanese paper I have ever taken in my whole life. It felt like an entire level higher than all the level 1 past year papers that I’ve been doing. I guess they were really out to fail people. Oh well.

JLPT is just tomorrow. I spent today revising my grammar and doing practice papers, really… OK, so I am lying. The reality is, I have been playing Really? Really! non-stop and it has me really hooked.

You should know how much I really hate Kaede, so it would seem really strange for me to like a game that is based on her Shuffle! ending. But really, Really? Really! is really a really, really good game. Really, if I could stop myself from inserting “really” into every other word, I’d be able to really tell you just how good Really? Really! really is…

I finally decided to stop supporting 800 x 600 resolutions. It’s just too damn small to work with. According to Google Analytics, only about 4% of you are using 800 x 600 screens, so you’ll have to deal with the horizontal scrollbar… Tyranny of the majority ftw!

Forget it. 400px wide content div it is. GAO!

I also tweaked the layout here and there and added a tagging system. Now all I need to do is to blog more often… :P

BTW the RSS feed from Danny is part of his “Featured Feeds” initiative.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu Vol.4 Limited Edition (the manga) will come bundled with a 11cm-tall Haruhi figure. Due for June 2007 release. Preorder deadline is 28th Feb, so plenty of time left to talk to a Kinokuniya branch near you. Or wait for Amazon to put up their listing if you are one of those people who don’t get to pay for overpriced stuff at Kinokuniya. It costs ï¿¥1,785, or just about three times the price of the regular edition. But it’s worth it, right?

Moé Factor is now live!

Moé Factor

Part II of DM’s domain-registering misadventure. Long story short: I decided to make it a picture-of-the-day thing.

After hours of WordPress hacking, I finally got it down to something close to what I imagined. Why I didn’t just use one of those ready-made POTD scripts is beyond me, but what’s done is done. There are still a lot of functionalities that I want to add, but it should be sufficient for now.

What should I do with this?

I registered a new domain for some unfathomable reason. Hurray! The catch is that I can’t decide what I should do with it. (It may seem like I’m doing things backwards, but actually that’s just your imagination.)

  • moé picture of the day (NSFW galore?)
  • peer-ranked Digg-style anime news
  • user-submitted anime news but with moderators instead of peer ranking
  • translation-related stuff
  • a blog in Japanese (できるかな・・・)
  • something so crazy, cool and revolutionary that I haven’t thought of it yet
  • leave the domain to mould because I’m too lazy to actually implement anything

So what’dya think? That last option sounds pretty good to me right now…

School Days 2007

According to Moon Phase Zakki an anime based on School Days—the popular fully-animated game from Overflow—will be coming our way next year.

School Days

Character design will apparently still be Junji Gotou, but Moon Phase suspects that while there is a high probability that a School Days project is in the works, the list of staff that has been leaked is probably inaccurate.

So, who still remembers the mysterious “School Days episode 1” released by Paikai-Fansubs—a group worse than Doremi—last year? That was actually the first chapter of the game (which is, technically, fully animated). If the anime turns out to be anywhere close, it will be really awesome.

I think I speak for everyone who has played the game when I say that I can’t wait to see Makoto being stabbed with a knife! And of course, Setsuna-chan! :D

P.S. I was the translator for Paikia-Fansubs. Sorry. orz
