I am so tired… I want to just drop dead and die, but here are some pictures. I think I walked about 6km in total today.

It’s my second day in Tokyo. It’s only 8pm right now but it feels like midnight because the sun sets at 4pm…
We overslept and missed Tsukiji, and ended up spending the whole day in Ikebukuro. (Otome Road in particular.) This is what happens when you don’t plan your itinerary in advance.
I’m now lying in my bunk bed at K’s House Tokyo in Asakusa. We just reached Tokyo this morning after an overnight transit flight via Bangkok.
After leaving our luggage at the hostel, the group of us proceeded to take a long walk (longer than it should be due to various detours) to Akihabara. Pictures after the break.
This episode is pretty awesome because it does not have 10 minutes of contrived Allelujah emo, and it has some politics and background information about the world of Gundam 00! I love those.
And of course, like all the other good episodes, Ms. Wang changes into a new dress. How deep does the rabbit hole go? Or in this case, her wardrobe…

The contest involves mixing your own Appleseed: Ex Machina trailer using the soundtrack and footage provided. Apparently there is a built-in editor on the website, which probably means that you can’t use your own preferred video editing software with all the cool effects you learnt from wasting your life on making AMVs on YouTube.
The trailer with the most user votes wins. The winner gets a free trip to San Francisco in February for WonderCon.
The contest ends on February 7th and the DVDs for the movie will be out in stores on March 11th. Find out more from the contest site.
I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with Appleseed, but that’s another story…
According to an annual research by research agency Media Create titled “The 2008 White Paper on the Otaku Industry”, the total combined size of game, anime and related goods sales amount to 186.8 billion yen (about 1.65 billion USD) for the year of 2007. This is a slight 2% increase over last year’s 182.1 billion yen.
I will be in Tokyo from Dec 24th to Jan 2nd. This is my fourth trip to Japan and the main objective is of course the Winter Comiket (29th to 31st). Preparations for the trip is almost done; all that’s left is the packing. Look forward to some C73 coverage on this blog soon!
I have not yet decided on how to spend the rest of the days, but Akihabara is definitely in the itinerary. Possibly Nakano too. I will probably spend at least one or two days going to some weird and hilarious destinations but it’s all top secret kinsoku jikou until (and if) it actually happens.
And of course, I am looking forward to meeting some familiar folks in person for the first time. Ah, the wonders of the internet.
Crypton, the creator of VOCALOID2 software Hatsune Miku and the upcoming Kagamine Rin/Ren, sent a cease-and-desist order to doujin circle CLOCK☆HEARTS.
The circle was taking preorders on its website fan-made dakimakura covers of Miku and Rin. (Sort of NSFW: Hatsune Miku | Kagamine Rin) In response, the circle has taken down the pictures of the covers and will be refunding all the preorders.

This year’s end-of-year cosplay event was once again held at the Singapore Expo. I dropped by for a bit to take some photos.
