“Where’s my pizza?”
It’s cool now guys. Code Geass is back from the dead. As Pierce Brosnan would say if he were an anime otaku blogging about Code Geass: It lives to die another day. Okay, so it’s not perfect, but at least we are free of this particular uninspired story arc and on to greener pastures, hopefully.
Zero and the Black Knights make off with the Empress, but their escape is blocked by Xingke. I am of the opinion that the writers for the series are secretly taking a long break in Hawaii and the current story arc is actually being written by the office janitor.
This happens way too little in real life
After last week’s break, episode 9 is finally here! I find this episode’s plot logically defective but the character interactions melodramatically delightful, so on the whole the episode is sufficiently entertaining. Hey, it’s like I just described 90% of Sunrise’s works.
The legend of Zero
In episode 10 of Macross Frontier, Ranka and Alto take part in a movie production based on the legendary story of Shin Kudou, Sara Nome and Mao Nome and the events surrounding them that took place over half a century ago on Earth, leading up to the beginning of the first human-alien war.

I hereby declare Macross Frontier OST 1 to be the animé soundtrack of the year, and all upcoming titles for the remaining half of the year shall have to live in shame knowing that they will never live up to the greatness that is this collection of pure awesome. It’s so good that I translated half the songs on it already.
There’s no Code Geass this week, just some lousy recaps. Oh no, this blog is doomed! Wouldn’t someone in the animé industry and/or Japan please do something stupid and/or controversial again, so that I may regurgitate yet another pseudo editorial and pretend to be a wise intellectual?

No? Nuts. Well, here’s something from the other extreme. While surfing Nico Douga two days ago, I chanced upon all six episodes of Golden Boy, that were uploaded under extremely nonsensical titles, and rediscovered the pubescent joys of blatant innuendoes and sexual stereotyping.

At the end of episode 7, Zero accepted Nunnally’s offer, much to the surprise of everyone else. Knowing Lelouch, we all know that there must be a catch somewhere. And there is.
I like episode 8 because the twist was expected and quite hilarious. Although it may have jumped the shark a little, at least it’s something new.
Blasphemlicious
JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure, an anime series based on a manga by the same name, is currently under fire from the Middle East for having a villain in the show read the Holy Koran while plotting the death of the protagonist.
Rather stupid if you ask me.

Poor Lelouch has lost his sole purpose in life, rejected by his loli sister whom he secretly lusts for. But it’s all right because he manages to find a new one by the end of the episode. Hurray!
Not my favourite episode. I think the character dynamics is somewhat lacking this time, and the battle scene wasn’t all that exciting either. I think it’s about time Sunrise winds down the series a notch before it runs out of momentum, and start laying the groundwork for a grander set-up.
This week’s raw was slightly delayed because three top Share uploaders were arrested in Japan last week.
