Macross Frontier new ending – Northern Cross

Northern Cross
It’s artsy

Episode 16 of Macross Frontier gets a new ending theme Northern Cross performed by May Nakabayashi. It’s a really beautiful song written to fit Sheryl’s image. YouTube video and my rough guesstimation of the song lyrics after the jump.

Code Geass R2 — Episode 15

Code Geass R2
君は誰とキスをする?

This episode explains the entire basis for Geass: It’s actually a typo for “gears”. Show’s over guys, we can all go home now. Jokes aside, this episode is like one of those Evangelion episodes where the Angels take a break from world destruction and the main characters just talk and emo. It’s more interesting than it sounds, but only if you happen to care more about the life stories of a bunch of faux British chaps than giant robots engaging in asexual intercourse.

Code Geass R2 — Episode 14

Code Geass R2
“Why don’t you love me? ;_;”

Wow, I don’t know what to say. This episode is like watching two bullet trains collide head on, burst into a huge flaming ball of destruction, and the “survivors crawling out of the wreckage with third-degree burns. Okay, so that was a lousy analogy made in poor taste, especially since none of us has seen that happen before, but my point is that it’s a train wreck. It’s like a roller coaster ride: it’s exciting, it makes you sick, and you don’t mind going on another.

E2046 – Kan’u Unchou on a motorcycle

Kan'u Unchou

I’ve blogged about E2046’s prepainted resin figures before, such as their cast of the BUBBA Bunny Haruhi and Yuki Nagato.

As part of their ORI series of products, E2046 has created an original Kan’u Unchou (from Ikkitousen) resin figurine that looks like the most thorough work in their pre-assembled product line thus far.

Do you remember love?

Macross

Driven by my obsession with Sheryl Nome and my curiosity in Macross lore, I embarked on a journey of discovery to watch every single Macross series ever. Weeks later, I’m not yet at the goal, (*cough* Macross 7 *cough*) but I have seen enough to speak about my otaku trip.

It is a story of excitement and expectations, boredom and disappointments, and most importantly, a story of love.

Code Geass R2 — Episode 13

Code Geass R2

I don’t like to give spoilers because I think they ruin the experience, but episode 13 is basically one huge spoiler, so it’s kind of difficult to talk about it without revealing anything. As such, I have decided to skip the episode summary this time.

Cosfest VII

Cosfest VII

Cosfest VII was held over the weekends at Downtown East. It is an annual cosplaying convention, home to the Singapore qualifying round for the World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya, Aichi, along with other animé-related events and competitions. Also, the cutest Haruhi cosplayer ever. :O

Singapore Toy and Comic Convention

Miku
Look at her left hand :P

I dropped by the inaugural Singapore Toy and Comic Convention today to see the CosCon cosplay competition. As expected, the number of cosplayers who turned up was significantly smaller than those of dedicated cosplay events in Singapore, such as Cosfest and EOY.

Code Geass R2 — Episode 12

Code Geass R2
The new Claymore

This is the most awesome Code Geass episode in the second season so far. No kidding. It has comedy, tension, revelations, drama, reunions, heart-warming moments and a cliffhanger all packaged into one convenient 24-minute episode. It just goes to show that the series only works when it takes itself half seriously.

Pokémon 151

Pokémon 151

Articuno

I used to love Pokémon. I owned Red, Blue and Yellow and completed them at least a few dozen times, to the point that I memorized the walkthrough. I tried out Diamond recently on my DS, but despite clearly being a superior game in terms of gameplay diversity and production values, it doesn’t seem quite as interesting any more. I guess it’s the whole growing up thing.

So anyway, Nintendo has created a new line of apparels called Pokémon 151 for people like me. They are targeted at adults who miss the time when there was only 151 Pokémons but don’t want to be caught dead wearing those brightly-coloured Pikachu T-shirts that Nintendo sells.

They have four designs up on the site now: Hypno (Sleeper), Cubone (Karakara), Articuno (Freezer) and Mewtwo. Take a look.
